Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl and with an electric mixer on medium speed, beat together butter and Parmesan cheese for 1 minute or until smooth.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together flour, Italian herb mix, salt, and cayenne. Add flour mixture to butter mixture, and beat to combine. Add water a little at a time until a soft dough forms.
  4. Turn out dough onto a floured surface, and roll to [1/2]-inch thickness. Cut into 12 strips, and twist each strip to form a spiral. Transfer to the prepared baking sheet, and bake for 15 to 18 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on a wire rack, and store in an airtight container for 1 week.
Notes:
  1. *Gluten-Free Flour Blend: Combine 2 cups rice flour, 2/3 cup potato starch, 1/3 cup tapioca flour and 1 teaspoon xanthan gum. Store in container with tight-fitting lid; stir before using. Makes 3 cups.
