Ingredients

Instructions
  1. Pre-heat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8” x 8” square baking pan and set aside.
  2. Topping: Mix together all ingredients and set aside.
  3. Batter: Using mixer, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in egg, then vanilla until smooth.
  4. In separate bowl, mix flours, xanthan gum, baking soda, baking powder, and salt together.
  5. Add flour mixture to butter mixture alternating with sour cream. Continue adding these ingredients alternately and mixing lightly at each addition.
  6. Fold in pears.
  7. Spread mixture in prepared pan.
  8. Sprinkle nut topping over the batter. Some of the topping will sink, which creates a marbled effect when baked.
  9. Bake at 350°F for 40 – 45 minutes or until browned. Let cool slightly then cut into squares.
  10. Makes 8 medium sized squares.
